Motherhood & Exercising
I personal train a lot of mothers and have learned through talking with them on a regular basis how hard it is to take care of your children and work out. It seems that there is never enough hours in the day and much of the time is spent dropping the kids off at school, picking them up, play dates, after school programs etc. It seems in the years before children start school that is the toughest because there is no time to escape to the gym!
If you find that you can not get to the gym, a trainer could do an at home session and ask you to purchase some essential equipment. Most of the equipment trainers use for in home training can be stored under a bed, so there is no worry about huge pieces of equipment.
Now if you can not afford a trainer, some trainers will write a program out for you at a reduced rate and you can use that program right from your living room! Also there are many gyms out there now that provide day care and now there are classes that you can bring your child/ children with you.
I train three mothers in a living room and they have a sitter watch the kids for an hour while they exercise. We have a great time, they get a great work out and the kids are being watched for an hour -can’t beat that! Also at my gym, All For 1 Fitness, we have created a children’s sports and conditioning on Saturdays at 11 am while there is a separate work out class for moms.
I am not a mother but after listening to my clients that are mothers I congratulate each and every one of you for your hard work and making the time to work out!
