Muscular Endurance Workout Program
The definition of muscular endurance is the ability of a muscle to do continuous work over a long period of time. This type of endurance is important for people playing sports or who have to sustain an activity for a length of time. Muscular endurance uses slow twitch muscles -these type of fibers cannot exert as much force as fast twitch but can sustain effort over a greater amount of time. Slow twitch is used for endurance while fast twitch equals strength.
Many sports are dependent on muscular endurance, such as tennis, hockey and long distance running. If you want to improve your muscular endurance the best way would be to run, bike or play sports. Another way to improve your muscular endurance is to perform extremely high repetitions (approximatively 40 to 50 repetitions).
I recommend a program that you can use 3x weekly and consider it part of your cardio routine and strength workout
I use a muscular endurance program instead of jumping on a Precor or Treadmill. Remember it is important to change your program up! Never do the same machines day in and day out -your body will not change! Always challenge your body to take it to the next level!
