Self Workout in Central Park Is Back To New York City On May 8th 2010!

Workout in the Park is back to Central Park in its 17th edition! Last year, more than 12,000 people participated in the Workout in the Park series, reaffirming SELF’s mission to motivate and inspire women to discover their best selves. To continue to improve women’s well -being, with a focus on fitness, Workout in the Park returns to teach, train, and tone with talent that inspires and techniques that work.

SELF will kick off the series in San Diego on April 24, 2010, followed by events in New York on May 8, 2010 and Chicago on May 15, 2010.

The Workout in the Park 2010 roster includes 17 dynamic classes. Attendees can stretch and strengthen their way into svelte shape with traditional classes from Pilates to kickboxing. Industry research suggests that Americans are searching for workouts that combine health and happiness through interactive, yet effective elements that elevate exercise from intense to enjoyable (Trend Central, August 2009). With this in mind, Workout in the Park offers unique fitness experiences, such as:

  • Flow Yoga: A challenging body/mind adventure incorporating asanas, breathing, and mindfulness for a completely centered experience. Sculpt a leaner, stronger body while releasing stress and fatigue. Rock Bottom—Get a better butt and better legs with this intense lower body workout inspired by Reebok’s Easy Tone Exercises
  • Broadway Dance Series: Give your regards to Broadway with signature style from the stage with this dance workout inspired by and featuring numbers from musicals including Hairspray, Chicago, Grease, and more!
